Speaking of visual goodies, I was commissioned to make some of my delicious cupcakes for a friend's daughter's birthday. It wasn't the Hello Kitty theme I was expecting, but THUNDERCATS!! Do you remember that show? My friend had downloaded all of the episodes and now her daughter is hooked! Anywho, I didn't have a camera to take pics of the event and the cupcakes were gone before I managed to pull out of Blackberry to snap one. My friend managed to snap one last photo before she scarfed down the cartoon-inspired goodies. For my first time hand piping chocolate, it's not bad, huh?

Project 1501

So...I've been hard at work coming up with concepts and ideas and an overall plan for this thing, besides random posts of fashion things. In between that, I got to work on a logo project for a creative suite called Studio 1501. I liked how it came out!

I'm hoping to continue with this project and follow its progress, because the concept is really unique. But I can't divulge that information...yet. Sitting and letting my creative juices flow is such a big thing for me. I only wish that the best ideas wouldn't occur in the middle of my class! Anyway, stay tuned for further visual goodies and fashion stuff. As I draw on things, there are many things to expect soon. But I'll keep you guessing.

Little Polka Dot Shirt

About a year ago this time, I found the most eye-catching, 80s looking striped and polka dotted shirt I've ever seen. When the tag had 99c written in sharpie on it, I flew the register with the rest of my purchases and the little polka dot shirt. Every time I walk into a store, I walk around aimlessly until a piece stands out and literally grabs my attention. This was exactly that kind of shirt. But it would be a whole year until I'd take it out of my closet to put on. I must say though, it was well worth the wait.

Sweet Sundays...

Happy Sunday! The weather lately has been actually nice for an East Coast city in January. It actually makes me wonder: is a ridiculously freezing week on the way?? Hope not because tomorrow begins another school term, and its hard to commute and look cute while trying not to freeze (also, I just hate coats).

Anywho, I decided to go 80s today for church. Most of the vintage threads I collect are 70s and earlier, but I snagged this awesome early 80s dress while thrifting last summer. It sat in my closet for a few months while I figured out what to wear with it. Then I bought a pair of rough and tough Kelsi Dagger combat boots. I took my fabric shears the funky 80s dress and ended up with a great top.

Stiletto RED

I'm probably a bit late, but I've spent this past week (and today) pulling out my winter clothes and putting away all my summery tops and dresses. A quick examination to the accessory section of my room made me notice something; I LIVE in black! Black bags and black shoes were all over the place, with a bit of white, blue and tan handbags, sprinkled here and there. It made me wonder: did I gravitate towards black accessories (because black DOES go with everything), or did it just so happen that all of the pieces that fit my style were black? Whatever the reason, I resolved that in 2012, I was going to adopt a new staple color. A bright and vivid shade that I nickname "Stiletto Red".

JEWELRY BOX: Inspiration Tokidoki

Inspired by my new phone, I sorted through my jewelry box (more like jewelry drawer) to find some pieces I could throw together for the same girly/grunge effect as Tokidoki. One cant always dress the part, which is where jewelry comes in for me. All handmade items were made by me, as I don't see the reason to pay insane prices for everything (except shoes. that's unavoidable).

Velvet Loafers, Gentlewoman

A while back, maybe a month or two, I fell in love with a pair of velvet loafers. I had just run into the store on my break just to absorb some inspiration from the shoe section (and let's be honest, plot my next purchase) when this pair stood out from all of the other black shoes.
I'm experimenting with displaying and styling objects... the reason for the pics. It's one of the things that I do besides Draw on Things.
