Project 1501

So...I've been hard at work coming up with concepts and ideas and an overall plan for this thing, besides random posts of fashion things. In between that, I got to work on a logo project for a creative suite called Studio 1501. I liked how it came out!

I'm hoping to continue with this project and follow its progress, because the concept is really unique. But I can't divulge that information...yet. Sitting and letting my creative juices flow is such a big thing for me. I only wish that the best ideas wouldn't occur in the middle of my class! Anyway, stay tuned for further visual goodies and fashion stuff. As I draw on things, there are many things to expect soon. But I'll keep you guessing.

Little Polka Dot Shirt

About a year ago this time, I found the most eye-catching, 80s looking striped and polka dotted shirt I've ever seen. When the tag had 99c written in sharpie on it, I flew the register with the rest of my purchases and the little polka dot shirt. Every time I walk into a store, I walk around aimlessly until a piece stands out and literally grabs my attention. This was exactly that kind of shirt. But it would be a whole year until I'd take it out of my closet to put on. I must say though, it was well worth the wait.

Love means never having to scuff your loafers...

Long post title, eh? I got a bit creative. But here's a few shots from today.

There's something about loafers that I haven't been able to let go of since grade school. I must admit that every now and then my outfits tend to take a "school uniform" feel to it, although completely revamped. You may remember the velvet loafers from the Gentle Woman post a while back. To keep my "fit" from looking matronly, I opted for my favorite patterned tights, a brown studded leather bag (nothing about studs can ever be matronly), and my DVF blazer.

Snow day

It's been a while since I last posted. I've been buried under snow and fashion work (ah the joys and pitfalls of fashion life). Fortunately, I've still been gathering inspiration and taking pictures, so there's still something to show. It snowed last week, leaving my Sunday a bit gray. I absolutely love looking at snow. I just hate getting out in it. Nevertheless, I braved the elements to get a few shots in. Excuse the lack of variety, as it was freezing and once again I had on no coat (there's something about me and coats that will never quite mesh.).

Stiletto RED

I'm probably a bit late, but I've spent this past week (and today) pulling out my winter clothes and putting away all my summery tops and dresses. A quick examination to the accessory section of my room made me notice something; I LIVE in black! Black bags and black shoes were all over the place, with a bit of white, blue and tan handbags, sprinkled here and there. It made me wonder: did I gravitate towards black accessories (because black DOES go with everything), or did it just so happen that all of the pieces that fit my style were black? Whatever the reason, I resolved that in 2012, I was going to adopt a new staple color. A bright and vivid shade that I nickname "Stiletto Red".

Velvet Loafers, Gentlewoman

A while back, maybe a month or two, I fell in love with a pair of velvet loafers. I had just run into the store on my break just to absorb some inspiration from the shoe section (and let's be honest, plot my next purchase) when this pair stood out from all of the other black shoes.
I'm experimenting with displaying and styling objects... the reason for the pics. It's one of the things that I do besides Draw on Things.

Welcome

Welcome to Draws on Things. The name comes from a comment that most teachers had to say about me through all of my lower and upper school years. "She's exceptionally bright, but sometimes she sits there and draws on things." No canvas needed, just a surface. Here's a look into the things that inspire me or in any other way make me tick.
