CHANEL me.

Morning!

During class, I was doing my usual walk through the cyberhood, when I clicked on Chanel's spring couture collection. Can I just say, I love Lagerfeld? Ok, just did. Ahywho, I wanted to share some of my fave looks from the show. Inspiring to say the least (already searching for my 1920s-esque beaded dress).

Love means never having to scuff your loafers...

Long post title, eh? I got a bit creative. But here's a few shots from today.

There's something about loafers that I haven't been able to let go of since grade school. I must admit that every now and then my outfits tend to take a "school uniform" feel to it, although completely revamped. You may remember the velvet loafers from the Gentle Woman post a while back. To keep my "fit" from looking matronly, I opted for my favorite patterned tights, a brown studded leather bag (nothing about studs can ever be matronly), and my DVF blazer.

Snow day

It's been a while since I last posted. I've been buried under snow and fashion work (ah the joys and pitfalls of fashion life). Fortunately, I've still been gathering inspiration and taking pictures, so there's still something to show. It snowed last week, leaving my Sunday a bit gray. I absolutely love looking at snow. I just hate getting out in it. Nevertheless, I braved the elements to get a few shots in. Excuse the lack of variety, as it was freezing and once again I had on no coat (there's something about me and coats that will never quite mesh.).

ARMOIRE

One thing I like about the the winter season is wearing warm things, from scarves to fragrances. One of my favorite scents is Chanel, since it lasts longer than most other fragrances.

Christmas gift 2010: Michael Kors scarf that I wear most every day.

Sweet Sundays...

Happy Sunday! The weather lately has been actually nice for an East Coast city in January. It actually makes me wonder: is a ridiculously freezing week on the way?? Hope not because tomorrow begins another school term, and its hard to commute and look cute while trying not to freeze (also, I just hate coats).

Anywho, I decided to go 80s today for church. Most of the vintage threads I collect are 70s and earlier, but I snagged this awesome early 80s dress while thrifting last summer. It sat in my closet for a few months while I figured out what to wear with it. Then I bought a pair of rough and tough Kelsi Dagger combat boots. I took my fabric shears the funky 80s dress and ended up with a great top.

Fashionitis

I hopped off the train today a bit late when my wires got crossed and wound up on the wrong
train. But anywho, doing my daily stroll through the online fashion neighborhood i created (via my convenient bookmarks bar. yay technology!) when I stumbled upon the most entertaining beauty story I've read in a while. Kudos to the geniuses at W who hired this writer. Take a look-see.

Goods from my Armoire

It's a new day, a new year, and a new me. I've been perusing the interwebs for more information about natural styling/products and I must say, there's more info than I thought. Luckily I have some friends already deep into the natural hair thing, so I think I'm covered. Until I make my much-needed hair care shop, I've decided to drape twisted braids around my head.

Taken via photobooth from my Macbook, so excuse the quality. But anywho, do you like?

HAPPY NEW YEAR! HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!

Happy New Year!!!
